Grand Challenge of Tahiti for Autonomous Drones

  1. Championship

  2.
  3. Grand Challenge of Tahiti for Autonomous Drones

  4. Where: Tahiti (French Polynesia)
  5. When: Second week December 2024
  6. Why: Assess the current status of advanced drone and AI technology.
  7. Who: Anybody can participate. Simply send us the web url of your site describing your drone and its capabilities. A short video of your drone in action would also be nice. Make sure you carefully read the description on what constitutes a truly autonomous drone. If we like what we see, or have any further questions, we will contact you. You will then also receive a download link for the Tahiti drone video data.
  8.
  9. Rules: The championship will consist of three tests being executed on alternating days. All tests will occur during the daytime and start early in the morning. The schedule:
  10.
  11. 1. Day Arrival
  12. 2. Day 1 Trial
  13. 3. Day Day of rest
  14. 4. Day 2 Trial
  15. 5. Day Day of rest
  16. 6. Day 3 Trial
  17. 7. Day Departure
  18.
  19. If on any of the trial days the weather conditions deteriorate the trial will be stopped and restarted on the next day.
  20.
  21. What constitutes an autonomous drone?

  22. In the most simplest terms, all drone navigation is handled by the drone on board. In other words no WiFi, no Internet, no GPS, no human intervention in any form or manner and no fly-by-wire control. All navigation has to be performed by the drone on its own.
  23.
How will the drone be informed of its target destination?

  24. 3 modes are being considered:

  25. 1. The name of the target (either in English, French, or the local Tahitian language). For example, this can be a landmark name like: "Les trois cascades".
  26. 2. A short description of the target in either English or French. For example, "The target being sought is a church with a high steeple. The steeple contains a clock facing towards the ocean. The clock has no minute and hour arm. After detecting the target, fly around it, and take an aerial video. Finally, return to the original starting location.".
  27. 3. A still image or a video depicting the object.
  28.
  29. Trial competition modus operandi:

  30. The day starts at 5:30 am. The contestants will all receive the same destination target. Everyone has 2 hours time at their disposal to enter the information into the drones. As soon as everyone has completed this task, or the 2 hours are up, the drones and the contestants will be taken to an undisclosed starting point on the island of Tahiti. Once the starting point has been reached the contestants will be asked to activate their drones. No further interaction between the contestants and their drones will be allowed.
  31.
  32. Winner: The winner will be cured based on an overall score of how close he/she came to solving all three trials and the amount of time it took to complete the task.

IPhone Release of MyFriendTweeter v. 3.00 - Twitter Open-ended Biographical Search Engine

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

IPhone Release of MyFriendTweeter v. 3.00 - Twitter Open-ended Biographical Search Engine

May 23, 2011

MobileTimes announces the release 3.0 of its advanced Twitter friend finder tool MyFriendTweeter for the Apple IPhone.

MyFriendTweeter allows its user to specify a biographical description of his or her interests in order to locate new friends. This tool provides Full English language support. The user only needs to supply an English worded text (i.e., a sentence, a paragraph, or even a complete page of text) of their basic interests and who they are. Since this engine provides open-ended search, it will iteratively search Twitter for new users that best match the supplied interests. This Twitter search engine is more accurate than standard search technology, since it combines both static as well as dynamic features during search.

Trying to locate new friends on Twitter with standard search technology, can be very tedious. Often the found results, have little in common with the target search terms, or the chosen user names. Furthermore, messages tend to be old, infrequently relevant, or even completely off target. The content on Twitter changes constantly, resulting in a frequent re-ranking of search results, addition of newcomers, and of course departures of old acquaintances. Finally, the task of locating good friend matches is further compounded by the fact, that individuals' Tweet subjects tend to change over time.

MyFriendTweeter addresses these problems, by completely automating the search process. The user only needs to supply his own biographical search text. From this point on the tool will continuously scour Twitter for new friends to follow. The user can at his own discretion decide when to further inspect the newly found Twitter friends and add them to his/her following list. Ultimately, this leads to cost savings in personal search time spend on trying to locate new individuals that match one's own interests.

Support exists for the following OS/Platforms: Apple IPhone (Jailbreak), J2ME/Midlet (Symbian-Nokia/SonyEricson, PlamOS, pre-WebOS 2, etc.), Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, Windows (NT, 2K, XP, Vista, Win7), Windows Mobile 6.x, Apple OSX, Linux, Free BSD, Open BSD, HPUX, IRIX, AIX, and Solaris. Released as shareware.

Release of TweetMyImage v. 1.00 - Twitter Image Timeline Blog Creator For All Windows-based Devices

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Release of TweetMyImage v. 1.00 - Twitter Image Timeline Blog Creator For All Windows-based Devices

September 23, 2010

MobileTimes announces the release of its image timeline Blog creator for all Windows-based Devices.

TweetMyImage allows its user to post his or her images to Twitter, thereby creating a timeline blog of images. After all, if an image is worth a thousand words, one should imagine how much an image blog is worth! With this handy utility for Windows devices (i.e., Desktop, Notebook, Tablet, NetBook, PDA, or SmartPhone) users can create their own image blog, and/or follow their friends' image blogs. Images can be supplied from two sources: Firstly, from a user-specified list of pictures residing on the device, or via an automatic camera snapshot feed. The later automatically creates camera snapshots at a preset frequency rate, and publishes the pictures to a users’ Twitter account.

Not only can a user create image timeline blogs with TweetMyImage, but he or she can add as many Twitter members to their own monitoring list. The tool automatically downloads images from these Twitter accounts and keeps them stored on the computing device. Of course, one can at any point in time decide to create an animation of another Twitter member’s image timeline blog.

TweetMyImage can be used to regularly change a user’s profile image, create dia shows/presentations, or feed a devices camera output. For example, any traveler can have his/her SmartPhone or PDA's camera output sent directly to their Twitter account, so that others subscribing to the image feed can see what the traveler is seeing from anywhere in the World. All of this is of course done automatically, with no user intervention being required.

TweetMyImage - If one needs to say it, then one should say it with an image timeline blog.

A Multi-Lingual User Interface to over 140 languages is available.

Support exists for all Windows Desktop and Mobile devices. Released as shareware.

September 3, 2010

MobileTimes announces the release of its message blocking Sentinel BlockUs for Windows-based Mobile Devices.

Do you regularly install software on your mobile device?

Are you aware that sending messages (either SMS, MMS, or E-Mail) from your mobile device without you knowing is as easy as 1-2-3?

Are you a representative of a corporate entity, organization, or simply somebody who makes Mobile Devices available to others?

If any of the above holds true, you should continue reading.

Any program can easily automate sending messages from a Mobile Device without its users knowledge. Bot-Nets, Spam-, and Spy-tools can utilize this feature to gain access to your most trusted private information, or make use of your devices resources!

This little utility also allows you to peruse all sent messages on your device, by taking into account their blocking status. SMSSpaminator - Anti-Spam for Mobile Devices - Arnie, gives it Two Guns up!

Release of SMSSpaminator v. 3.00 August 23, 2010
SMSSpaminator - Anti-Spam for Mobile Devices - Arnie, gives it Two Guns up!

August 23, 2010

MobileTimes announces the release of its Spam removal Sentinel SMSSpaminator for Windows-based Mobile Devices.

  • Have you ever grown tired of Spam cluttering your Mobile Devices' SMS/MMS/E-Mail Inbox?
  • Do you maintain and access multiple E-mail accounts from different providers on the same mobile device?
  • Are you annoyed by the quality of online anti-spam services?
  • Are you tired of waiting around until your Anti-Spam request is serviced?Bulleted List
  • Did you ever try to change the spam setting for e-mail messages you've received, which were incorrectly identified as spam?
  • Are you a victim of SMS/E-Mail-mobbing, or cyber-bullying?
  • Is someone actually stalking you by continuously sending unwanted messages?

If any of the above holds true for you, you should continue reading.

To decide what is Spam, is best decided by just one: YOU!

SMSSpaminator removes these pesky and annoying messages with a click of a button. This little Sentinel monitors all incoming messages and keeps out those messages which you deem inappropriate (Out of sight, out of mind!). Messages identified as Spam are automatically moved to a special Spam folder and out of your InBox. Even better, you can now apply the same spam rules uniformly to all your accounts with just a couple of mouse clicks. If you receive messages from multiple e-mail accounts (different service providers), there is no longer a need to visit each provider to report a message as spam!

The moment you receive a message, which you find objectionable, simply click on the tool. Locate the message in question and click to create a new Spam rule. Filter based on Sender Id or Message Content (uses pattern recognition).

Use the Automated SMS Answering Service to send a custom response to every received SMS.

A Multi-Lingual User Interface to over 140 languages is available.

For added power, combine this handy little utility with MobileTimes' advanced search tool FindUs!

Support exists for Windows Mobile 5.0 & 6.x (6.0, 6.1, & 6.5) for the PocketPC/Professional and SmartPhone/Standrad platforms. Released as shareware.
